Description We use seismic data from a newly deployed dense seismic network in southeastern Iran to study tectonic tremors triggered by large distant earthquakes. To systematically analyze triggered tectonic tremors, we utilized seismic recording from this seismic network, each of which is equipped with a Trillium 120PA seismometer (frequency range: 120 s–175 Hz) and a Taurus digital seismograph, collected from March 2017 to September 2018. We identified a single typical triggered case in the WMSZ that shows a distinct long-period tremor sequence coinciding with the surface waves of the September 8th, 2017, Mw 8.2 Chiapas, Mexico earthquake. We identified triggered tectonic tremors at seven stations: L14, L10, L09, L17, P22, P24, and P12. The instrument response was not removed from each record for the original data. We provide a Python script to remove the instrument response by using ObsPy and visualizing tremor signals recorded on these seven stations. The arrival times of tremor bursts used for tremor location were also uploaded.

Type The 2017 MW 8.2 Chiapas mainshock seismic waveforms are stored in the standard SAC format with a sampling rate of 50 Hz in the folders named ‘./20170918_M8.2’. Each station has five components: east-west, north-south, radial, transverse, and vertical with ‘.BHE.SAC’, ‘.BHN.SAC’, ‘.BHR.SAC’, ‘.BHT.SAC’, and ‘.BHZ.SAC’. The zero time in the event waveform refers to the origin time of the mainshock (UTC time). For removing the instrument response, poles, zeros, gain, and sensitivity are specified as keys of the ‘pz_T120pa’ dictionary in ‘./plot_tt_sta.py’. The peak arrival time of the tremor bursts on the envelope function, which is used to fit the reliable location in ‘./pick.dat’, and each column of information is the station name, station latitude, station longitude, and arrival time information (seconds relative to zero time).
Format SAC format in the file named by ‘*.SAC’.
