Description |
To investigate seismicity in Yunnan, located in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau, we applied machine learning and template matching techniques to construct a high-resolution earthquake catalog. This catalog was used to analyze the spatial distribution and potential causes of seismic activity in the region. The study utilized broadband seismic data collected from stations deployed by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, between December 2002 and August 2004, along with publicly available data from the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS). A total of 3,868 high-precision earthquake events were identified from this dataset. Three-component waveform data were recorded at a sampling rate of 20 Hz, and event waveforms were extracted within predefined time windows. All event files are stored in directories following the structure: ~/YYMMDDHHMMSS/Net.Station.Component (e.g., ~/20021231042957.997/YN.YN39.HHZ). |

Type |
*HZ, *HN, *HE components about each event in SAC format. Necessary information, such as locations of the station (STLA: latitude; STLO: longitude) and earthquake (EVLA, EVLO, EVDP), sampling rate (DELTA), number of sampling points (NTPS), has been stored in the head list of each file. |
Format |
SAC format can be read directly using SAC, ObsPy, MATLAB, et al. |
