Title Reconstructed monsoon precipitation of North Africa over 200 years
Creator Sainan Liu
Subject Reconstructed monsoon precipitation data
Publisher Xiukuan Zhao
Description We selected the wetness index of Sahel (13-15; 18-20)\ Guinea coast (24, 28-29) (Nicholson, Dezfuli, et al., 2012; Nicholson, Klotter, et al., 2012) and the reconstructed upper Nile River flow (Blue Nile River and Tekeze-Atbara River) based on tree-ring (Mokria et al., 2017) to reconstruct the NAFM precipitation. First, we conducted a correlation analysis between the humidity indices of the Sahel and Guinea Coast regions, as well as the upper Nile River flow (Blue Nile River and Tekeze-Atbara River), and the observed monsoon precipitation intensity during the calibration period (1951-1994) (C. Xu et al., 2023). And then we use the composite-plus-scale (CPS) and line regression method (Tierney et al., 2015) to reconstruct the precipitation.
