Title S-wave receiver functions from the CIGSIP-3 (SE Iran) array
Creator Zimu Wu
Subject S-wave receiver function (S-RF) data
Publisher Xiukuan Zhao
Description To gain a better knowledge of the deep structure beneath southeastern Iran, we extracted S-RFs from a dense seismic array with 67 broadband stations, which operated from March 2017 to September 2018 under the “China-Iran Geological and Geophysical Survey in the Iranian Plateau (CIGSIP)” project. All the portable stations in this experiment were equipped with Trillium 120PA seismometers (120 s-175 Hz) and Taurus digital seismographs.
The S-RF waveforms used for deep structure imaging are provided in the database. Teleseismic events for direct S phases with magnitudes ≥5.0 and epicentral distances of 55°-85° were considered. Time-domain maximum entropy method and a Gaussian parameter of 3.0 were employed in the deconvolution. The waveforms provided here are not filtered after deconvolution. The time-axis and polarity of S-RF waveforms have already been reversed.

Date March 2017 - September 2018
Type The S-RF data are stored with a sampling rate of 12.5 Hz and a length of 120 sec (-20 sec to 100 sec). The time zero refers to the direct S-wave arrival.
Format All the S-RF data are stored in SAC format with suffix ‘.eqz’. In the head list of each SAC file, necessary information such as locations of the station (STLA: latitude; STLO: longitude; STEL: elevation) and earthquake (EVLA, EVLO, EVDP), sampling interval (DELTA), and number of sampling points (NTPS) has been given. The standard SAC format can be read using SAC, Obspy, MATLAB, et al.
